Technical Questions
Detailed answers for the technically curious
What sensors does SwimNavi use?
SwimNavi combines a 9-axis IMU (accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer), ultrasonic distance sensors for wall detection, and optical sensors for lane marker recognition. All sensors are rated IP68 for underwater operation to 3 meters.
How does the positioning system work?
Our proprietary sensor fusion algorithm combines data from all sensors at 200Hz, processes it through on-device machine learning models, and outputs position estimates accurate to ±2cm. The system is self-calibrating and learns each pool's unique characteristics.
Is my data private?
Yes. All processing happens on-device – no data is sent to the cloud during swimming. If you choose to sync training data to the companion app, it's encrypted end-to-end and you can delete it anytime.
What's the battery technology?
SwimNavi uses a custom lithium-polymer cell rated for 8 hours of continuous use. Charging is via magnetic USB-C connector (no exposed ports) and takes approximately 90 minutes from empty.
